Older Adults Technology Services (OATS) works to support, train, educate and empower individuals to age boldly in a technologically dominated world. It dramatically impacts the health, well being, social involvement, vitality, and connection amongst millions of older individuals in the US through online and offline support, classes, activities, and education to individuals and institutions alike.

But measuring the impact of these initiatives, and using audience data to drive prioritization, decision making, and programmatic design can be challenging. Sowen was asked to help improve the knowledge, tools, and processes that help the organization optimize activities, better understand audiences, increase engagement, and improve the impact made on the lives of older adults.

Sowen partnered with OATS to accelerate the development of a data and insight driven organization, and improve capacity, knowledge, and use of data tools, processes, and decision making. This included, in the first instance,  deep research and analysis of the competitive landscape, and a complete audit of data tools, processes and knowledge across the organization.

With a thorough understanding of the current state and future needs of the organization, we headed into design and implementation of tangible solutions. This included the overhaul of the company’s technology stack, and reconfiguration of data systems including Salesforce, Google Analytics, Qualtrics, Sharepoint, and Tableau.

Finally, to assure organizational change and adoption takes place, we created a series of management and performance dashboards leveraging real time data from multiple audience touch-points. We also created and deployed a series of workshops designed to introduce new data usage and sharing protocols, up-level the use and adoption of self-serve tools, and reduce bottlenecks as a result of over-reliance on tactical solutions from the data and technology team.
