The American spirit and might are reflected in many aspects of American society.  Unfortunately, equitable access to healthcare is not one of them. According to the Commonwealth Fund, in 2021, 38% of US adults skipped a medical visit, test, treatment, follow-up, or prescription refill due to accessibility or costs. This number rises to 51% for low-income populations.

Today, CityMD is the largest provider of urgent care in the New York and New Jersey areas. To extend reach and services in underserved communities, the organization wanted to leverage demographic, economic, social, and geospatial data to model the potential impact of future locations from both an economic and community service perspective.

The Sowen team worked to identify and aggregate multiple data from private and public sectors and applied Machine Learning techniques to assess audience segmentation, analyze current and future community needs, assess competitor presence, and model future demand, cost vs. benefit, and service delivery in optimal locations.
